These terms cover two things: use of the Avhaar website (avhaar.in), and use of the Avhaar toilet reporting platform (toilet.avhaar.in and the Android app). By using either, you agree to the part that applies to you.
Part A. Website terms of use
1. Using the website
You may browse the website and send us enquiries for lawful purposes. Please do not misuse it: do not try to disrupt it, probe it for weaknesses without our written permission, or send spam or unlawful content through the contact form.
2. Information and quotes
The website describes our services in general terms. It is not an offer. Any project is governed by a separate written scope and quote that you and Avhaar both accept.
3. Intellectual property
The website's text, design, logos and code belong to Avhaar or its licensors. Client names and logos belong to their owners and appear with permission. You may not copy or reuse our material without permission, except for personal, non-commercial reference.
4. Links to other services
Buttons such as WhatsApp lead to services run by others, under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for them.
5. No warranty and limits on liability
We take care to keep the website accurate and available, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, Avhaar is not liable for losses that arise from using or being unable to use the website. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Part B. Toilet reporting platform terms
6. What the platform is
The platform helps people report problems at public toilets and helps administrators track and resolve them. Avhaar is an independent civic-technology provider. Unless an official notice says otherwise, the platform is not an official channel of any government body, and submitting a report does not create a legal complaint or guarantee any action or response time. It is not for emergencies. In an emergency, call the relevant emergency number.
7. Eligibility and your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. You log in with a one-time code sent to your mobile number or email address. Keep your device and codes private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. Administrator accounts are created by senior administrators and may not be shared.
8. Your reports
Reports must be truthful and about a real toilet problem. Do not submit false or duplicate reports, abusive or defamatory content, photos of people, other people's personal information, or anything unlawful. Use the upvote feature to support an existing report instead of filing the same issue again. Each description is limited to 256 characters and each report to four photos.
9. Your content and our licence
You keep ownership of what you submit. You give Avhaar a non-exclusive licence to store, process and display your reports and photos to the administrators involved, and to operate, secure and improve the platform. We do not use your photos for advertising.
10. What we may do
To keep the platform fair and safe, we or the administrators may edit or remove content, change a report's status, escalate unresolved reports to senior administrators, limit or suspend accounts that break these terms, and make changes to the platform. We may rate-limit activity that looks like abuse.
11. Availability
We work to keep the platform running, but it may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Notifications and messages may be delayed.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the platform at any time. To have your account and personal data deleted, email rohanmishra2823@gmail.com. See our Privacy Policy for details.
13. Disclaimer and limits on liability
The platform is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, Avhaar is not responsible for the actions or inaction of the administrators or authorities who receive reports, for delays in fixing a problem, or for indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
